I love finding new music, or old music, and I like to put them into groups. Recently I decided I should have a group specifically for the best music albums to have sex to! These are seductive, sexy, mood-setting albums you should consider putting on next time you have a special someone over!
Rhye – Woman
I love the vocals that Rhye’s Mike Milos hoffers. The first time I heard Rhye I thought the vocalist was a woman, but Milo’s vocals have occasional deep husky notes that not many women can pull off. The whole album is full of chilled ambience, however the couple of more up-beat numbers such as “last-dance” add interesting pacing to the album. It’s very easy listening, I feel like I’m getting whisked away to a fancy hotel lounge bar with low lighting and smokey cigar wisps. Very romantic.
Massive Attack – Mezzanine
An older, classic album that will suit those with a little more alternative taste. Mezzanine took number 1 when it was released, with special mention to “Teardrop” which is sang by Elizabeth Fraser of Scottish rock band “Cocteau Twins” and adds a soprano vocalist to the album’s otherwise low key – I personally love “Dissolved Girl” but that’s more of a post coital cuddling song…!
Portishead – Dummy
Another “oldie” in my books, this album was released in 1994. It hit number 2 in the UK as well as winning the Mercury Music Prize. Described as “Gothic-HipHop” this album sets the mood perfectly on days where it’s raining outside I think. Days where you want to get warm under the covers and have slow, passionate sex! I find the female vocals hit notes that send a tingling chill down my spine!
The Weeknd – House of Balloons
More “hip” and “trendy” – The Weekend has gained a lot more popularity recently and his albums have gained pretty good success. However I like that the pace is faster and there’s the popular techno vibes that have been so popular in modern music. Smooth R’n’B is always a winner for sexy music. This is a great album for those of you who aren’t perhaps into the more alternative albums that dominate my list.
NIN- Teeth
My best friend Tony used to always wear a NIN jumper, he was almost known by it. I had never really listened to Nine Inch Nails and the times I did I was never in the mood for it. I think you have to be very relaxed to enjoy NIN. That’s great for sex though. This album holds a special place in my heart because it was the music sound track for my impromptu burlesque debut!
Lovage – Music to make love to your old lady by
I think the name speaks for itself. It’s self explanatory and completely lives up to it’s promise. If this doesn’t set the scene then I don’t know what does!
