DDF Network is a slick European porn site with a very modern look to it. It gives the impression of being fairly freshly minted, although it has been around for years.
I spent a week or so diving into it. I did some streaming and some downloading, and tried my best to surf as much of the site as I could in order to get an impression of both the site itself and its content.
Porn is a personal thing, and we all have our own preferences. And it might seem odd to say it, but every porn site has its own feel. I had two impressions from DDF Network quite early on. One was that this site was very slick, glossy, professional and efficient. The other was that there was nothing which said to me “Hi! Welcome! We’re glad to see you – come on in, sit down and take your trousers off: we have something we need to do together.”
A week later I had identified things I liked – the text captions for performers and clips were often funny, and most were nicely written and quite full – and I felt a little more welcome, but the site still felt rather cold and clinical. Something as minor as changing the background from black to a lighter colour might make a difference.
Models
You encounter the more popular porn performers a lot. Most are American, but various European models are becoming increasingly widely known. There are over 2,500 pornstars on DDF Network: all are gorgeous, and most are European/Eastern bloc. It therefore follows that many of the names will be unfamiliar, although Harriet’s members will recognise a number of old friends! Exploring new names is exciting, although the absence of familiar faces can leave you feeling a bit like a stranger.
Content
The majority of the content is technically bang up-to date: widescreen HD, and available to stream or to download at various levels of quality. I downloaded a number of scenes at the lowest definition, and found image quality on a living room TV very acceptable. The highest definition file sizes quickly eat up your storage capacity, of course. According to the Archive section, the earliest clips date back to 2002, so even the oldest clips have a modern look.
Production values are high: scenes are brightly lit with strong colour saturation. Camerawork and editing strike a good balance between close-ups and wider establishing shots. So there is no concentration on genitals in action to the exclusion of facial reactions or an understanding of who is doing what to whom. The material is very professionally produced.
The 2,500-odd pornstars frequently only have 2 or 3 scenes each to explore. In total there are something over 15,000 scenes available. That sounds like a lot, but if they are not to your taste then that number shrinks rapidly.
And taste is crucial. It seemed to me that the clips on offer contained relatively little straight sex by comparison to the amount of anal, lesbian, fetish/niche and solo. I did a lot of surfing which often proved unproductive as regards my personal tastes (which are fairly vanilla): even so, it was easy to make choices and surf immediately to a new possibility. Most of the material was unfamiliar to me: it all seemed original to DDF Network, so you won’t be going “Oh, not that scene again!”.
The scenes were all professionally staged: don’t look for amateur/gonzo material here.
I particularly enjoy porn when the model gives a strong impression of being into it. I got the impression that many of the DDF models were conscientiously performing rather than enjoying, but that is very common in the porn world.
Usability
The site works well. There is a well-designed, simple and friendly interface which is easy to navigate and fast to respond. I used it on a desktop machine, a laptop and a tablet, and response was good on all three. Both streaming and downloading were fast and problem-free.
Each scene is identified with a large clickable graphic in the style of a DVD cover. It gives the clip name and key performers over an image which is fairly representative of content.
There are a number of related sites which membership also covers – Euro Girls On Girls, DDF Busty, House Of Taboo, etc. – and material from these sites is identified with a trade dress banner on the scene graphic. Performers’ names are also given as links, which makes surfing intuitive and easy.
Menu options are few and simple, enabling you to (for instance) select pornstars by recently active, top rated, or alphabetical. If you go into the alphabetical menu, you have to start at the first page or the last page: you can’t select M, for instance
There is also a selection of categories, albeit only 20 of them. And, of course, there is the trusty magnifying class for you to enter your own preference.
A minor problem here is that many of the scenes have little in the way of identifiers/tags, so that search terms you type in may fail to give any results. “Pizza” gives multiple results, but “Photoshoot” gives none. I would have welcomed better search capabilities and more detailed drop-downs for each menu option.
Longevity
The DDF Network members’ area has over 15 000 exclusive videos. It’s unlikely you will ever get through all that. And DDF give you at least one new video every day. It may be that, after mining the site for material which fits your taste, you might not feel like maintaining a subscription in the longer term. But most people will find there is enough here to keep you coming back.
Value
This stands or falls on your preferences as to content. At $45 per month DDF Network is one of the priciest porn sites you will find, even after you account for fresh daily content and their vast back catalogue. But there is a cut-price three-day trial option for $5. I suggest this would be a useful first stop if you are undecided about this site. It will give you time to see if the site fits your tastes. If so, then one of the longer subscription options will represent very good value for you given the quality and quantity on display here.
