Meghan Markle may be getting ready for her lavish wedding to Prince Harry this weekend, May 19th, officially making her a part of the British royal family. But, while most of the world has been talking about the actress since she got engaged to Harry, there’s one thing about Meghan Markle’s past that’s getting some attention in the days leading up to the nuptials.
And, as the headline says, we have a hunch you can guess what that story is: that Markle once dated a porn star.
That’s right, the first-class brunette is about to enter the world of royalty, but, according to Yahoo!, Meghan Markle once dated Simon Rex, a controversial adult film star-turned-actor and model who might be best-known for his time with MTV as a VJ in the ’90s. Talk about interesting timing for the news to hit the Internet, right?
The Yahoo! article goes on to say that Meghan Markle once went on a date with Simon Rex back in 2004 when she was just an aspiring actress. For those unfamiliar with Rex’s career — and we don’t blame you for now knowing about him — the guy got his start in gay porn, even winning an award for Best Gay Solo Video in 1997.
“Friends say Meghan and Simon had their one-off date in Los Angeles after meeting on the set of short-lived US sitcom Cuts when they both guest-starred in the same episode,” reports the Sun.
OK, so the future princess may have only gone on one date with Rex, but, still, it’s quite the far cry from her current relationship, with her soon-to-be husband born into royalty. Needless to say, now that Meghan Markle has found the right guy for her, all of those past endeavors are just that, the past. Not only that, but, come on, who would have ever foreseen 14 years ago that an up-and-coming actress would go from Hollywood unknown to princess? Chances are low anyone would’ve guessed that.
Look, we’re not too concerned or consumed by this whole royal wedding thing, but we have to admit that this story about Meghan Markle having once dated a gay porn star sure makes things a little more interesting — even if it was just one date.
