Daily habits that successful men do everyday

Look, we all measure and define success differently, but, for the majority of us, the word means confidence, leadership and, in lots of cases, wealth. Whether or not that’s appropriate is up for debate, but one thing’s for sure, those who are so-called successful people are the ones who minimize distractions, surround themselves with like-minded and positive people and focus on how they spend their time.

Since we’re all on the hunt for ultimate happiness and success, however you define it, we figured it’d be good to give some daily habits of those men out there who have been there and done that. You know, the entrepreneurs and innovators who are helping shape the world beyond the normal 9-to-5 office gig.

Whether you’re looking to start your own company but are afraid of failing, want to become more outgoing or just want to get confidence to talk to the pretty girl at the coffee shop, here are some of the daily habits of successful men to model yourself after.

Exercise

This is one of the most popular daily habits of successful people, as regular exercise helps you look and feel good, with hormones in your body producing all the good stuff to help stay sharp. Whether you’re going to the gym to get a good lift on or going for a long run to sweat, exercising can help the mind, body and soul.

Wake up at the same time each day (and early)

That old adage about the early bird getting the worm seems to be true for a lot of successful people, who regularly wake up at the same time every single day — which is typically before six in the morning. Now, some of you may not be morning people, per se, but if you want to tackle certain goals of yours before heading into the office each day, waking up and writing, exercising, eating right or something else can help maintain happiness.

Take time for yourself

Nobody wants to be labeled as being co-dependent, so it’s important to do three simple words: fucking love yourself! If you don’t enjoy hanging out with yourself, how the hell are you going to inspire other people and perform at your best? Taking time for yourself means gathering your thoughts, going for a walk, blasting music, reading, etc., which are all ways to decompress from all the other distractions we’ve got going on in our lives.

Organize your life

It’s important to compartmentalize your tasks and get things in order. Some CEOs have been known to layout their entire wardrobe for the week each Sunday, which cuts out any time trying to mix and match outfits each morning. You may not want to (or have to) go to that extreme level, but organizing things will help you be more efficient with how you operate.

Eat right

Having junk food and downing a bunch of beers is OK every once in awhile, but, for the most part, you’ll want to choose the healthier options over the more pleasurable ones. For instance, when you’re out with friends at a bar, rather than going with a burger and fries, opt for a salmon salad that will be just as filling, but without all the fat. And, if you’re snacking, go for low-fat options like turkey jerky or veggies over potato chips and sweets. This will help keep your mind and body sharp, so not to make you sluggish throughout the day.

Make a to-do list and prioritize tasks

Feel like you’re overwhelmed with all that’s on your plate? That’s normal for a lot of us, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Rather than find yourself swimming in anxiety or stress with the tasks you have to get done, make a to-do list and prioritize each task from most important to least important. This may sound simple, yet, for some reason, so many people refuse to do it. But this is one of those daily traits of successful people that help stay focused and not feel you’re being pulled in a bunch of different directions.
