This weekend I had the pleasure of attending London MCM ComicCon 2017. On Friday I took over RedTube’s snapchat. On Saturday I cosplayed Mei in a Virgin Killer sweater, and on Sunday I got to interview some amazing cosplayers.
I fly back to London on Thursday, I have an Air BnB booked in the centre. I have with me one suitcase filled with costumes, and another empty ready for any geek merchandise I might acquire. Friday morning arrives and I have the amazing experience of taking over RedTube’s snapchat for the day. Thanks to everyone who joined to see my snaps of the day!
I decided to wear a Japanese school uniform for the day, nothing too complicated but still fun to dress up as. I got to meet some amazing costumed people, which really motivated me to try more ambitious cosplay in the future!
If you can get a day off, I really recommend going to London MCM on the Friday. It’s much less busy so you get to see everything really easily. There’s still lots of cosplayers to see as well.

Saturday and my Mei cosplay, Sunday and stealing weapons
On Saturday I thought I’d try a bit more on the cosplay side of things. I busted out the Virgin Killer Sweater and got my Mei is Bae game on. The tank was much heavier than I thought to carry around. I think in the future more foam and less wood for the weapons. It was great that most people recognised my cosplay even though it was a variation and not at all true to the video games.
I got to meet many more amazing cosplayers on Saturday. This is the busiest day of the convention and it can get very crowded. I recommend it if you want to see as many cosplayers as possible, but not if you want to see the stalls and videogame area. However for the best experience it’s best to just got for the whole weekend like I did!
I had a lot more people come up to me on Saturday to say hi, so I wanted to just say thanks for everyone that did that. It’s always so lovely to meet people in real life. On Sunday it was quieter, but still busier than Friday. It was super hot that day, and I was very tired. I still managed to steal some weapons to post with though!
