Look, I’m not saying that I’m a child or anything, but who the hell doesn’t like a good toy to play around with every once in a while, right? While most of us turn to video games, like Fortnite, among others, my personal preference to shoot around the house to take out some frustration are Nerf guns — and one of the coolest ever was just announced, the Fortnite AR-L Nerf blasters.
That’s because, according to IGN, the creators of Fortnite (Epic Games) and the people over at Nerf (Hasbro) have put their brains together to develop the first ever, real-life AR-L Blaster, where people can live out their Fortnite endeavors for real — without doing any harm to anyone else. The blaster, which is going to sell for $49.99, is expected to hit shelves in spring, 2019, with a release date of June 1, so make sure to mark your calendars.
Featuring rapid-fire, motorized blasting and flip-up sights that “allow players to focus their aim as they eliminate opponents and attempt to survive the “Storm,” the Fortnite AR-L Blasters look and sound absolutely awesome. Seriously, I may be 34 years old, but this thing gets me geeked like I’m 13 all over again.

The Fortnite AR-L Nerf Blaster features a 10-dart clip, but comes packaged with 20 elite darts, and will require 4 AA batteries, which will be sold separately. According to the IGN story, if any of you were lucky enough to get to TwitchCon last weekend in San Jose, the Nerf Fortnite AR-L was on display for fans to see live, giving a sneak peek at what to expect come June 1.
The Fortnite Blaster becomes the first product that will be released between Hasbro, who owns Nerf, and Epic Games, which develops the Fortnite series, as part of a partnership deal that was announced earlier this year. In addition to the AR-L Blaster, the two companies have released a Fortnite Monopoly set as well, which is already available in stores for fans to snag.
Given the longtime popularity of Nerf blasters and the success of Fortnite, we can’t wait to see what else these two have in store for us — but, if it’s anything like this AR-L, we’re going to be overwhelming excited. This thing is a must-have for sure.
