It’s without a doubt the era of superheroes, after more popular and family friendly comicbook adaptions. Marvel’s name now is so big in fact, I think they could announce any comicbook adaption and we’d all go crazy for it. But Marvel’s not the only one getting in on the action, and here is my list of the top superhero films coming out in 2015 that you should be looking out for.
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Everyone knows that the first Avengers film took the world by storm. However whilst the first one had a lot of build up, the sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, has been kept fairly well under wraps. That doesn’t stop everyone being ridiculously excited for it to come out, and my friends and I have already pre-ordered opening tickets to see the film at the IMAX.
Mad Max: Fury Road
Whilst not a Superhero movie exactly, I am insanely excited to watch Tom Hardy in Mad Max: Fury Road. With promises of action, explosions, post-apocalypse punk rockers and lots of sand, I don’t know what more you could want. Plus, it’s Tom Hardy being a badass, which I think I would pay cinema ticket prices for any day.
Disney’s Tomorrow Land
If you thought Avengers: Age of Ultron was kept well under wraps then you’ll have no clue what Tomorrowland is about. At least, I don’t. I do however have high expectations considering the creative team consists of Damon Lindelof and director Brad Bird. It looks like a future Utopia-turned-dystopia story though, and I’m always a fan of future cities with flying cars.
Jurassic World
Is Christ Pratt in everything these days? I’m not complaining, and to be honest, I look forward to his style of humour being incorporated into the Jurassic franchise. I’ve also loved dinosaurs from a very early age, so getting to see them on the big screen again is making me very happy. I only hope that they don’t rely completely on CGI making the dinosaurs look less realistic than the previous Jurassic movies.
Ant-Man
Ant-Man is a superhero I’m not very well acquainted to, but by this stage I think Marvel really could put anything in the Cinema and I’ll go watch it. I think the movie has a lot of directions it can go, so I’ll be looking forward to seeing how that plays out.
Fantastic Four
I’ll be honest and say I’m not particuarly excited for the reboot of the Fantastic Four, simply because I loved the previous one so much. Ok, so maybe Rise of the Silver Surfer wasn’t great, but I enjoyed watching Jessica Alba take off her clothes to get invisible, and I actually think the whole casting was done brilliantly. Despite all that, I’ll give the reboot a go, and we’ll hope for the best.
Star Wars
The big one that everyone is excited about. The trailer gives away so much, yet so little. What’s the lightsabor sword? Who is that storm trooper? Yay, the millennium falcon! Can the new instalment bring back the prestige of the original trilogy or will it turn into another “let’s forget this ever happened” moment? I’m personally looking forward to an expansion on the star wars universe, and I’d love to meet some new aliens or planets.
