Game of Thrones season 7 continues to smash it out of the park with one of my favourite episodes yet. Despite most of this season being set up for a great final battle, it still manages to deliver plenty of action, intrigue, plot twists as well as casual nudity.

The episode starts on the shores of Dragonstone. Jon and Davos are greeted by Tyrion and Missandei. They walk up towards the castle, giving Jon and Davos the perfect opportunity to see the dragons, causing them to jump down on the ground in surprise. A power play? Possibly.

In the throne room, Jon is introduced to Daenerys full title.  “Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, The Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Realm, Lady Regnant of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons”

In a classic move, Davos introduces Jon Snow as “This is Jon Snow. He’s the King in the North.” Jon and Daenerys then battle it out trying to decide if they should count on their family’s past or not. On the one hand, she doesn’t want him to judge her for being the daughter of the mad king. On the other hand, she wants him to hold to an oath his ancestor made to one of her ancestors.

In the end, they don’t form an alliance… yet. But after battling it out with Tyrion on the cliffs in a match of “who can be the broodiest” Jon manages to get permission mine the dragonglass. Tyrion really

Tyrion really rocks in this episode, I love most episodes where he gets more lines.

Cersi has run out of f**ks to give

In Kingslanding, Cersi continues on her crazy reign. Only she doesn’t seem so crazy anymore. Instead, she seems really competent. Evil, but competent. When the Iron Banks of Bravos come to inform her of her debt, and their concerns for her upcoming war, she shows she’s got everything under control.

Euron delivers to her Yara Greyjoy after destroying most of her fleet. He also delivers to Ellaria Sand and her daughter to Cersi, claiming to give her what no other man has managed to. “Justice”

Cersi’s form of justice is pretty intense. Shackling the mother and daughter across from each other, she gives the Ellaria’s daughter the same poison once used to kill Myrcella. She explains that Ellaria’s punishment is to watch her daughter die, and then watch her body decompose and rot.

After Cersi visits Jaime and is incredibly horny. She kisses him, and he says no. She continues to kiss him, before going down and giving him a blowjob. Cut to the morning after where we see her nipples as she gets out of bed. Answering her bedroom door, the servant clearly sees Jaime in her bed. The not-so-secret secret is finally public.

Daenery’s battle plans don’t go swimmingly

By swimmingly I mean most of her fleet is shrunk. Not only the fleet headed towards Dorne, but also the boats that carried the Unsullied to Casterly Rock. They do manage to take the castle. But it turns out it was all a trap.

Now Daenerys has no naval fleet and no unsullied. Oh and Jaime and the main Lannister Army just wiped out House Tyrell. But Olenna Tyrell goes down as a true Queen of Thorns, merciless taunting Jaime about killing Joffrey after she drinks her painless poison.

Everyone else

In Winterfell Sansa is showing great apptitude leading everyone on more normal duties. She notices things Jon might not have, such as leather lining the armour ready for Winter or checking up on grain stocks. At the door Bran arrives and she has an emotional hug with him.

He explains he can’t be Lord of Winterfell as he is the Three-Eyed raven, and that he can see everything that’s ever happened or will ever happen. He tries to explain this to Sansa by saying he saw her get raped on her wedding night with Ramsey Bolton. Good job Bran.

We only get a quick scene with Sam, with nothing disgusting or food related. Sam has managed to cure Jorah of the greyscale. A feat which is noticed by the Arch Maestor who gives him a punishment for breaking his order by rewriting some old decaying scrolls. What are the chances the old scrolls contain the information he needs? Hmm….
