I often hear the news reporting all the ways porn is evil and harmful, so it’s been really refreshing this week to find articles that put porn in a better light. First and most hilariously, 4chan trolls ISIS with gay porn, as well as articles for both technology and welfare.
4chan trolls ISIS with gay porn
ISIS has been known to use social media outlets such as Twitter to recruit young nationals from all across Europe to join their terrorist campaign. Online groups such as 4chan and anonymous have been countering them for years, using various methods to shut down their accounts. The problem with this, is that ISIS members can just as easily create new social media accounts.
The new method taken on by 4chan and anonymous is to hack and spam ISIS social media accounts with overwhelming amounts of gay porn. The attack on the extremely homophobic group has proved to be successful at slowing down their recruiting by putting off potential candidates.
4chan has been known to troll ISIS before, by replacing all their propaganda with rubber ducks. Whilst gay porn won’t bring down ISIS, it has certainly been an effective at slowing down their recruitment process. Full story can be found here.
Porn leads people to upgrade their tech
I’ve always considered porn to be a big part in technological advancement in home electronics. I would say porn and videogames are now two of the biggest forces driving forward tech upgrades, both sharing the need for bigger, better screens and a more immersive experience.
With visual reality picking up speed, it’s interesting to note that it might not have ever lifted off without the interest from porn companies. VR does have it’s uses as far as videogames go, however the porn industry has been really pushing for it, with many companies showcasing their VR works starting almost 2 years ago. It also took centre stage at this year’s AVN convention.
It’s not just virtual reality that has been pushed forward by porn. Porn has helped with advancing HD quality filming, 4K resolution screens and many others. For full story, read here.
