Forget “Making America Great Again,” because, for those hoping to find true love — or, at the very least, a little action — there’s an online dating app specifically for Donald Trump supporters who are hoping to “Make Dates Great Again.” Yep, welcome to the niche dating service you never knew existed.
Sure, we know there’s online dating apps available for lots of different people, making them unique to fit a person’s interests or hobbies, but a President Trump themed one? According to AskMen, the app, called Donald Dates, is something that pro-Trump supporters were looking for because of their views on the 45th President of the United States. And, as you might expect, the app is acting as a platform for people to meet because of their shared political affiliation.
Here’s what the online dating app’s CEO, Emily Moreno, has to say in an official statement about the mission of the app and its uniqueness to online dating, per the aforementioned AskMen piece.
“For many young Trump supporters, liberal intolerance has made meeting and dating nearly impossible. Support for the president has become a dealbreaker instead of an icebreaker. That’s why we created a new platform for Trump supporters to meet people without being afraid of talking politics,” said Emily Moreno, CEO of Donald Daters, in a statement.
While the platform may help eliminate the divide between two people who meet online by swiping right, there was a pretty major problem on the day the online date app launched — it actually leaked its entire user database, per Mashable, which, you know, kind of sounds like something straight out of a political election, doesn’t it? The app is working on the problem, but it’s still pretty bad PR for the Donald Daters app on the first day it became available.
Hi @FoxNews and @realDonaldTrump supporters,
You should not use this app. In 5 minutes, I managed to get:
– the list of all the people registered
– name
– Photo
– personal messages
– token to steal their sessionThread ⬇️ https://t.co/72KdNJTrmk

Added the CEO, Moreno, regarding the leak:
“We have taken swift and decisive action to remedy the mistake and make all possible efforts to prevent this from happening again,” Moreno said. “Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily suspended the chat service on the app while we implement new security protocols. We are also taking immediate steps to engage a leading, independent cybersecurity firm to pressure test the system to ensure it is secure against other vulnerabilities.”
While there have been other pro-Trump online dating apps out there before, given the press around the leaked info, Donald Dates is one that has seemed to get more attention of the jump. We’ll see if, as it promises, it really does really make great dates again, or if it’s just a big farce. Considering it’s aimed at such a niche market, something tells us it has staying power that will have plenty of users.
